MillieAnne grew up in the mysterious depths of San Francisco's Chinatown in the 1950s. Her stories are from memories of her relationships in the Chinese community, and the experiences of growing up in one of the biggest melting pots of the world. Inspired by John Steinbeck through his books: Cannery Row, Sweet Thursday, Travels with Charley, and Grapes of Wrath, (and many other of his stories), MillieAnne left the business environment of Los Angeles and went on the road to experience life differently. From a position as a waitress in the Squaw Valley Village cafeteria where she worked in exchange for room and board and a lift ticket at the former site of the 1960 Winter Olympics, she has chased Havolina on horseback in the southern part of the Arizona desert. For all the years in between then and now MillieAnne has tended bar in a Southern California restaurant frequented by Navy service men, been a cocktail waitress in the famous cowboy bar, Mr. Lucky's, in Phoenix, Arizona. Along the line of other interests, MillieAnne has had positions as a Reporter, Copy Writer, Proof Reader, Morgue Librarian, and as Opinion, and Feature Editor positions for college and local city newspapers. The list goes on to weave a wide fabric of her writing choices. Currently MillieAnne is working on a novel set in the mysterious and secretive community of San Francisco's Chinatown in the 1950s.
